Sports Foods and Drink Powders
For those of you that use energy drinks, I thought I would mention this website I stumbled upon which has a lot of the major sports drinks used by swimmers, at what seem to be better than average prices.www.Wiggle.co.uk is the website. Select the "Energy Drink" category on the left for the drinks. Such brands as Isotar, Lucozade and Science in Sport can be found there.
Hope that is of use to some people!
HENLEAZE GALA SEPT 10TH
A bit of a disaster really. A thunderstorm 30 mins before the start caused Bristol North pool to leak badly. This pool is a victorian pool and has seen better days. A new pool is being built in the area but has yet to open. Joe, Dan C and I got the news as we were half way to the gala and spent a frantic 15mins trying to call up swimmers. We then stood out side the pool and broke the bad news to those that arrived. I did feel sorry for Norton Radstock who had hired a coach, but I think they went onto Mcdonalds! Better luck next year!
NATIONALS 2005
Well done to Mike Oram, Martin Bleaken and Rebecca Alford who competed in the National Age groups in Sheffield.
Mike got an incredible 2nd in the 13yrs 100 fly in a time of 1.03.25 and also 3rd in the 200 fly, his time 2.18.47. Plus he got into the final of the 100 free and got 10th in a time of 58.49. Mike came 11th in the BAGCATS which qualified him for World Class Potential. This is fantastic news as only the very top swimmers in the country are picked. It means Mike will attend special training camps and be monitored for his future on the international/national stage. Keynsham Swimming Club is very proud of you Mike.
Next came the National Youth's. Well done to Simon Rex, Beth Taylor Erin Jeffery, Rosie Williams and Kristine Brown who all competed and got some great p.b's. Beth got a great GOLD in the 16yrs 400 I.M. in a time of 5.03. Rosie got into the final of the 50metres 14/15yrs Free and got 8th in a time of 27.96 and Erin got into the 14/15yrs 400 free final and also got 8th in a time of 4.28.74. Plus she got 7th in the 800 Free in a time of 9.09.85. Well done girls.
