TOP OVERALL TEAMS
TOP 9YR GIRL HANNAH SMITH
TOP 10YR BOY JOSS BENNETT, 2ND WILL TAVENER
TOP 10 YR GIRL LOREN BLEAKEN 2ND SIOBHAN O'CONNOR
About 20 clubs compete in this very popular junior open meet. Keynsham again did fantastically well. Nearly a clean sweep of all the top trophies. The only one we didn't get was the Girls top teams, that went to an extremely strong Thornbury. Keynsham had loads of Finalists and some great P.B's.
A special mention must go to the 10yr old girls Medley team of Siobhan O'Connor, Emily Pocock, Loren Bleaken and Paige Matthews who won by miles smashing the record that had been held for 10 years. Loren and Siobhan also got a One, Two in the 50 Free both of them breaking the record held again for 10 years. They also did the same on the 50 Fly the following week both breaking a 6 year standing record. Then Loren got another record in the 50 Back!! Fab swimming girls.
I would also like to mention our club captain swimmers. These guys gave up their Saturdays from 11am till 7pm to organise, encourage, and support the 50 Keynsham 9-12 yr old swimmers. For some it was their first gala and these older swimmers were fab with them. What a great example, so THANKYOU Dan, Joe, Dani,Caroline, JT and Shannen you made the coaches life less stressful!!
Now the Results.

BRISTOL NORTH TROPHY GALA JULY 1ST
Keynsham 179
Bristol North 145
Southwold 107
Dursley 52
Well done to all who competed in the Cartwright Trophy gala at Easton, held by Bristol North Swimming Club. Despite England being in the Quarter Finals of the World Cup all the team of Keynsham Swimmers were there competing. I commend you all for your loyalty. It was a shame the Thornbury Team weren't there as we always have a good battle with them (Perhaps there was something on the telly!) Our older boys managed their swims between earphones in the ear! Any way a good win for us and we brought the Trophy home for the year. Thanks to Jacqui and Kay especially also club captains for covering Lynne and my absence. And no I wasn't watching the football!!
