BRISTOL NORTH'S XMAS CRACKER GALA DEC 16TH
Thornbury 185, Bristol North 160, Southwold 153, Bristol Henleaze 140 , Keynsham 122.
Well done to those swimmers that competed in Bristol North's xmas cracker gala. Keynsham's team was mostly made up of swimmers that didn't get the opportunity to swim in the leagues. Everyone got at least 3 swims and Keynsham achieved 7 individual 1st places. As we have never competed in this xmas gala before we were very weak in the team swimming with balloons and on and off with Tshirts malarkey! This accounted for 16 races, oh dear! Still, we had a great laugh and we have now learnt from the other "experienced" teams how to do it!!
Have a fab xmas everyone

Please pick up your entry form from Bet for The Somerset County Champs. This important event is open to all swimmers 9yrs and up. Keynsham always takes a large team so let's take a team with every member of the club attending! Forms have to be back with Bet by the 8TH JANUARY.CLUB CHAMPS FINAL ROUND 25TH NOV
Another 8 records go in this last round. That makes a total of 22 records broken. Amazing swimming.
A big thankyou must go to all the officials that gave their time to make this Champs run so smoothly. Also the Gold medals awarded to Kay and Janet for getting all the swimmers to their races was very well deserved. That job can be extremely stressful and you don't get a chance to watch the swimming. Also thanks to the parents for all the support you gave the children, some great cheering!
Finally, before I list the results. Lynne, Janet, me and our poor partners are not impressed with "The Challenge" at the Disco, it could be you lot doing the coaching if we end up with bad backs!!!
Disco Fever
We've got disco fever here at the club and are looking forward to putting on our dancing shoes...some more than others! At the final round of the Club champs last night we announced a special event to take place at the Christmas Disco.
Three lucky couples have been chosen to perform in a dance-off on the night, with the winner receiveing a special prize and the losers being charged with a fiendish forfeit! Think 'Strictly Come Dancing' meets 'I'm a Celebrity' !
And finally, the couples :
Joe Beament with Lynne Bartlett,
Dan Sawyer with Thelia Beament,
Tom Fisher with Janet Miller.
If you want to find out exactly whats going on, you'll just have to be there!!!
So put the date (Weds 20th December) in your diary and get your tickets now!
The kids have finished school and its time to let your hair down. Its going to be a fantastic event, so buy early to avoid disappointment.
Just to wet your appetite...

BOURNEMOUTH 188
EXETER CITY 173
KEYNSHAM 170
WEST WILTS FORCE 5 A 150
HEREFORD 98
Well done to all our swimmers who competed in this tough premiership speedo league draw. We went into the last lot of relays level with Exeter but they got us in the end by 3 points. Plymouth is one of the top squads in the country so to come away with 6 firsts was brill. A special well done then to Loren Bleaken who won both her individual fly and free. Siobhan O'Connor who won the back. These girls were joined by Alice Havers and Paige Mathews to win the 11yrs free relay. Mike Oram won the very closely contested 15yrs fly, and Rich Webb won the open Breast.
Sam Dawkins won the "Get everyone wet in a 10 metre radius event!!"
I will let you know where the next round is as soon as I have been informed.

Well done to the 5 swimmers who attended the Somerset Sprints. We had a home gala on the same day so only a few swimmers took up the chance to swim in the Sprint meet. Bril swimming especially from Siabhon O'Connor who won both the 50 Free and the 50 Fly in the 10yr age group, taking the record in the fly, fantastic.JEAN FINDLAY TROPHY GALA OCT 7TH
KEYNSHAM A 227
BRISTOL NORTH 143
CIRENCESTER 121
THORNBURY 119
KEYNSHAM B 99
Well done to all our junior swimmers who competed in the above gala. Some great swims and fab team spirit.
I would just like remind all swimmers to always stay with the team. If you need to go to the loo or anything else you must tell your team manager first. As you can imagine having 60 odd children to get to the right race at the right time is a huge feat. If swimmers wander off to see parents or friends it can become a nightmare trying to track them down. On that note I'd like to thank all our club captains and older swimmers for getting the children there at the right time, a fab job. Also thanks to all the officials for such a smooth running gala. Well done.
SPEEDO LEAGUE 14H OCT PLYMOUTH
The final team list is on the board for the 1st round of the speedo. The coach will be leaving Ashton Way, Keynsham at 10.45am, so please be there on time. Please take a nutritious lunch to eat on the coach and plenty of drink.
The teams we are swimming against are Plymouth Leander, Exeter City, Bournemouth A, Hereford and West Wilts Force 5 A, so tough opposition. Let's give this gala 100% and show the other teams we are not just a small town club but that we can hold our own and our Team Spirit is better than any of them!
Bring it on!
