New Training Schedule – From 1st March 2012
We are introducing a new KASC Training schedule which may affect your swimming sessions; times and days. All the changes are detailed day-by-day in a chart available in the downloads section of this website. This communication has also been sent as a newsletter by email. If you haven't received the newsletter this means we don't have your current email address. If this is the case please advise Bet Parsons of your email address.
In order to expand the offer to our swimmers and secure pooltime we have looked to rent other pools, in addition to our prime time at Keynsham Leisure Centre. Last year we secured pooltime at Culverhay pool, on a Monday evening, for our Masters Squad and from 1st March this year KASC will have, initially, 4 hours of pooltime at the new pool at Hengrove. This is a fantastic new facility and the KASC Committee were keen to “get our foot in the door” early.
As a result of this we have had to review the Training schedule. So over the last few months the Coaches have been working on how best to use the pooltime available to us to meet the KASC objectives; which are;
-
KASC is a competitive club and targets the Premier Division of the Arena league and the Southern Junior league final.
-
KASC provides the opportunity for all our swimmers, coaches, teachers, officials and helpers to maximise their potential.
-
KASC provides a service to the surrounding community
-
In order to achieve its objectives KASC seeks mutually beneficial opportunities to work with other Clubs and Organisations. In particular our close relationships with - the Aquae Sulis Performance Swimming Club, the Amateur Swimming Association and the Bath & North East Somerset Council.
-
Our workforce are all volunteers
-
KASC is, and will continue to be, SWIM 21 accredited.
Please can I remind all swimmers that the over riding selection criteria for membership of KASC, for all squads, is good behaviour, the right attitude to training and commitment.
A couple of reminders;
-
For emergencies and regular communication, please can you ensure KASC has your up-to-date contact details – mobile, landline and email
-
Its important that coaches are aware of swimmers medical conditions and any medication taken on a regular basis.
