ANOTHER CHANGE TO AGM DATE

In view of school holidays the date of the AGM has been changed again and will now take place at the Riverside Suite at 8.15pm on TUESDAY 20th MAY 2008. For full details scroll down.

Inside the race: 100m Freestyle (Long course - 50m pool)

As you enter the pool, you immediately recognise the familiar smell of chlorine..You scan the scene...taking in the overall layout if the pool deck and it's inhabitants.

You notice the sounds of the pool, the coaches and swimmers talking, the sound of the water splashing...the gun goes off at the start off the race, as other heats go off before you.

You imagine yourself getting ready for the race...getting into your suit...spending sometime stretching...and going over the last minute details in your head..This is your best race...you're well prepared for this event and you are feeling mentally strong.

The official calls your event...Imagine yourself on the blocks..the starter commands 'Take Your Marks' ... you bend down into the starting position.....

NEWPORT OPEN MEET 3/4TH MAY

Well done to those swimmers that competed in the Newport open meet. Lots of great swims.  A special congrats to the following swimmers that achieved some new Western Counties Times;

Harri Elmer 13yrs 100Free, 200 Free, 400 Free

Paige Matthews 12yrs 100 Free, 200 Free

Emily Parfitt 11yrs 100 Free, 100 Back

Joel Abraham 14yrs 200 Back

Abi Lacey 10yrs 200 Free

Also Katie Parfitt 9yrs achieved 10yr time in 200 Breast.

Well done to all those that swam in the Club Captain's gala. There were some very close finishes and friendly rivalry going on! There's not many galas where a National Swimmer stands on the blocks next to a littley 7 or 8yr old pre lim swimmer next to an oldie Master!!

This was followed by a disco at Fry's. I think there may have been some lie ins the next day after all the racing and dancing the night before!!  Fantastic team building for all!!
